He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

Mothers, Moms, Mommies, Mamas

     A list about mothers:
1.  Mothers are the hardest workers on this earth.
2.  Moms have the hardest job on earth (emotionally, physically and mentally).
3.  God created moms to be super people.
4.  You always want your mama when you are sick.  Even when you are grown and married.
5.  Mommies go to bed last, and get up first.
6.  Mothers can cook supper, do laundry, help with homework, do the dishes, monitor the kids, make a grocery list, clean out the backpack, spot a lie at thirty paces, break up a fuss, and set the table, all at the same time.
7.  Moms can put on a normal face and take a trip to the bathroom, bawl like a baby, wash her face, and return to normal in less than five minutes.
8.  Mamas take the smallest piece for themselves.
9.  Mothers can say no when wanting to say yes.  They can say yes when they want to say no.
10. Sleeping mommies can hear their children walk across the carpet.
11. Mothers give up the last cookie if one of the kids want it.
12. Mamas talk Daddies into doing things with the kids the Dads would never think of themselves. (A trip to the American Girl Store???)
13. Mommies get just as excited SEEING the kids open their presents as the kids do when OPENING their presents.
14. Moms learn to spell words they forgot how to spell while helping their children learn to spell their spelling words.
15. Mothers never sleep soundly until all the children are home in bed.
16. God blessed mothers with special hearts that would heal quickly.  He knew how many times their hearts would be broken.

My mother is a saint.  There is no other way to say it.  The picture above is of Mama and her great-grandchild, Ansley.   My mother is eighty-eight years old.  She has seen changes in her lifetime that are hard to imagine.  She grew up in the country where people were self sufficient, hard working, and God fearing.  She modeled the Proverbs 31, "Virtuous Woman."

Proverbs 31:10-30 (New International Version)

 10 [a] A wife of noble character who can find?
       She is worth far more than rubies.
 11 Her husband has full confidence in her
       and lacks nothing of value.
 12 She brings him good, not harm,
       all the days of her life.
 13 She selects wool and flax
       and works with eager hands.
 14 She is like the merchant ships,
       bringing her food from afar.
 15 She gets up while it is still dark;
       she provides food for her family
       and portions for her servant girls.
 16 She considers a field and buys it;
       out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
 17 She sets about her work vigorously;
       her arms are strong for her tasks.
 18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
       and her lamp does not go out at night.
 19 In her hand she holds the distaff
       and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
 20 She opens her arms to the poor
       and extends her hands to the needy.
 21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
       for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
 22 She makes coverings for her bed;
       she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
 23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
       where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
 24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
       and supplies the merchants with sashes.
 25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
       she can laugh at the days to come.
 26 She speaks with wisdom,
       and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
 27 She watches over the affairs of her household
       and does not eat the bread of idleness.
 28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
       her husband also, and he praises her:
 29 "Many women do noble things,
       but you surpass them all."
 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
       but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

I love my mama! God bless you, Mama.  Happy Mother's Day!
